Since the instrument primarily finds applications in the Outside Plant environment the Model 531 has been designed to ensure proper performance in a wide range of harsh field conditions. Local loop coax cable system are constructed of relatively short cable runs [less than 1,000 feet (303 m)] therefore, the Model 531 offers resolution of less than 1 inch (25 mm) to allow viewing of all activity along a short cable span. The Model 531 provides test documentation ithrough its 15 internal memory registers. Test results can be stored or be recalled for future analysis.
