Global Water Global Logger III Global Logger III (GL300 A & B) Precision Datalogger with 4 or 8 Channels Accurate Remote Data Collection Menu Driven Programming Powered by Internal Rechargeable Battery Weatherproof Enclosure 16,000 Readings at 12-Bit Resolution Optional Telephone or Radio Interface Description The Global Logger III is a superior datalogger especially designed to meet all your remote data collection requirements. The Global Logger III is a highly reliable battery powered device for remotely recording environmental data from a wide variety of sensors. The Global Logger III is housed in a NEMA 4X weatherproof enclosure, which is ideal for outdoor monitoring. Global Logger data is stored in solid state memory. Data is downloaded from the Logger to a field computer using menu-driven LS4 Software. The Global Logger GL300A offers 4 analog input channels (ideal for pressure transducers, water quality sensors, weather sensors, and any other 0-5 VDC or 4-20 mA output sensors) and one counter input (for a rain gauge, pulse type flow meter, or other pulse output unit). The Global Logger GL300B offers 8 analog input channels and 2 counter channels. Both the A and B models have internal spade lug type terminal strips and water tight compression fittings for routing the sensor wiring through the enclosure wall. The enclosure has an internal 2 AH re-chargeable gel cell battery for powering the datalogger and the sensors. This battery will operate for several months between changings. There is also a backup 9 VDC datalogger battery and a lithium battery that powers memory. Sensor Interface The datalogger's analog channels read 0-5 VDC or 4-20 mA sensors, which includes most environmental and process control sensors. In addition, the datalogger provides a switched 12 VDC to the sensors to power them prior to taking a reading. The warm up time is programmable depending on the sensor type. Input resolution and accuracy for analog sensors is 12 bit (or one part in 4,095). For pulse type sensors, such as rain gauges, wind speed sensors and flow meters, the accumulator will store 9,999 counts for each recording time period. Software The Global Logger LS4 Software provides a powerful tool for programming and communicating with the logger. The software uses a friendly, menu-driven, multiple choice format. Programming features include downloading time and date to the logger, naming the site, specifying the channels that will record, programming warm-up time, entering recording interval, and calibrating sensors in any engineering units. In addition, maximum, minimum and average measurements can be recorded over a recording period. Advanced features include: setting the "zero" and "span" for each sensor, and providing curve fitting for linearizing sensors or for calculating flow automatically from depth data. True exponential datalogging is also provided. The software allows interface to the datalogger with a field computer, and enables easy communication, including: download of setup parameters, real-time observation of all sensors, collection of stored data, production of tabular and graphical reports. Files can also be transferred to most common spreadsheets and databases, including Lotus 1-2-3, Excel or DBase. The software is easy to learn and easy to use. A complete manual is also provided. Telemetry Option The Global Logger III is fully compatible with telemetry for collecting data remotely via telephone, cellular telephone or radio. Please contact Global Water for further information.
