 Features The LAW78KWH and LAW79KWH are the first low cost recording Watt/VAR meter designed to record both power consumption and reactive volt/amperes in all of the most common single-phase and three-phase (three and four wire) systems (balanced or unbalanced). In addition this is not only a recorder but a PORTABLE KILOWATT HOUR METER with an 8 digit LCD display (kw mode only). They may also be used to record only kilowatts or kilovars (Leading or Lagging). Each recorder comes complete with four color-coded voltage leads, three color-coded clamp-on current transducers, and a power cord. All switches (including Lead/Lag switch for capacitive or inductive loads) are located on an easy to use control panel. Selected range is indicated by LED(s) providing positive identification of range being used. Select from combinations of 3 current ranges LAW78KWH 0-200/400/800 (LAW79KWH 0-50/100/200); and 7 voltage levels (120/208/220/240/277/480/550 VAC). When used as a time-sharing recorder, one complete recording sequence with the LAW78KWH or LAW79KWH (8 consecutive dots for watts, 2 consecutive dots for vars) takes 50 seconds at 12"hr. and 10 minutes at 1"/hr. With the LAW78-KWH-T or LAW79KWH-T, one complete recording sequence (8 consecutive dots for watts, 2 consecutive dots for vars) takes 25 seconds at 12"/hr and 2.5 minutes at 2"/hr. Specifications Accuracy: Based on sinusoidal waveforms and power factors above 50%: Watts ±3% F.S. Vars ±4% F. S. Kilowatt-hour readout: Better than 2% of reading +/– 1 count. Based on sinusoidal waveform with a power factor 0.5% ambient temprature = 77°F (25°C) Energizer A47L may be used with the LAW79 KWH on 120 VAC systems to add three additional ranges of 0-.75/1.5/3.0 kilowatts, based on 15 amps continuous rating of A47L. CT50-1 & 2 may be used to increase current inputs 50 times to 5,000/3,000 amperes respectively. May add up to ±3% of reading when PF is over 80%, up to ±4% when PF is below 80%. Lead Length: All leads are 5 feet long. They may be extended to 100 feet by splicing in #18 copper wire.
